Hi,

I am having problems with an Intel X550-T2 that i just installed. I cannot see it in my NAS, and therefore need to install drivers. I am not very savvy when it comes to CLI, and not sure how to proceed.

One thing I did try is downloading the driver from intel for FreeBSD, and then putting it in my SMB share, going through CLI to compile it, but I got an error saying that I need to set COMPILER_TYPE.

That's as far as I got.

The drivers for this card are already installed in the kernel. It's likely your board isn't recognizing the card. When you run dmesg | more, do you see any messages about unknown devices?

I swapped the PCIe slot, and it worked. I have 3 available, and it works in only 1 of 3.

Be aware and be warned that there are fake X550's floatin' about. Random problems with them are common. Check to see if the Yottamark on the back side validates.

It's a Syba card, pretty sure it's legit. My motherboard is a no-name x79 motherboard from China, so that was more than likely the cause.
