Installing a small version of TrueNas for the storage and some features it offers, SFTP etc. When going to install the OS it can't find the drives assigned. What setting am I missing? We have been using Open-e for this but was looking to make a change. I have tried thin and thick provisioned disks but still no joy.

Thanks.

Welcome.

Please carefully and thoroughly read the iXsystems blog post about "Yes, you can virtualize FreeNAS (TrueNAS)" here:

Pay specific attention to the part about production use and hardware passthrough of PCI devices like your HBA.

Virtual FreeNAS is a bit of a hard row to hoe for your first installation. Is it possible to set it up on a smaller bare-metal server as a proof-of-concept first?
