I updated to U3 and installing Plex still hangs up @ 50 percent.
Does anyone have a workaround?

Can you please provide more information. Installing plugins? manual? what specific build are you using?

Anything in var/log/messages?

What is your hardware? (please post in thread, signatures are not always visible on mobile)

I could be mistaken but I don't believe that exists. latest version is 11.2-U3

var/log/messages is a location on your freenas box. ssh into your freenas box and navigate to that file and open up that file with your favorite text editor (ee, nano, etc.). look for any messages around the time you tried installing plex.

Try manually setting your IPv4 address instead of using DHCP when you install.

Alternatively you can manually create your Plex Jail and then use the shell to download Plex

I did try this but it doesn't allow me to save and continue on.

Is there a tutorial that shows how to do this? I really don't know what I am doing...

Don't go through legacy mode.

  1. Manually create a plex jail.
  2. Create/link storage for that jail.
  3. Go back to the main jails tab.
  4. Select plex jail and then select shell command.
  5. type
    Code:
    pkg upgrade
    then
    Code:
    Y
  6. type
    Code:
    pkg install plexmediaserver-plexpass
  7. Once done type
    Code:
    sysrc plexmediaserver_plexpass_enable=YES
  8. in a browser, navigate to your plex jail's assigned IP:32400\web
  9. Login into plex.
If this seems too complicated read up on Jails in the User Guide link

Look at the address it was assigned. 0.0.0.0

Something isn't right. Click the three dots and edit. What does it say for your network config on that jail

Is your FreeNAS system powered on?

Yes, it is on.
I refreshed the server and the jail is turned on now.

Now, what do I do?
Create/link storage for that jail? How do I do this? Sorry for the step by step, but I want to make sure I am doing it correctly.

Create/link storage for that jail?
Correct.
First you need to Stop the jail.
Then you click on Mount Points
Then map your media to your jail.
