Hi Ix community!
I am currently trying to install but it gets stuck before even selecting a boot device.
I also tried multiple USB drives but it still wouldn't go further than this...

I personally don't know what's happening because I'm new, so I made screen recording with my phone:

These are the last lines it gets stuck at:

Hardware:
Intel Core i3-2100
8gb ddr3 Kingston(2×4gb)
1 hdd 250gb (this will be my boot drive)
2 hdd 2tb

You haven't bothered to tell us the motherboard in use, which is typically a factor in "locks up during kernel"

The real memory suggests that this is a janky old motherboard with a large reservation of some sort, maybe maxxing out at 8GB RAM. This is probably not going to work {well, at all} for FreeNAS. Don't shoot the messenger.

Remove the Mellanox card. Crawl before walk. If you have any illusions of doing 10G on some vastly underpowered system, please be ready for disappointment. Plus you shouldn't have extra hardware that's known to be finicky in a system if it's having trouble booting.

The motherboard is just a generic Fujitsu thing with this partnumber on it:

A "generic Fujitsu thing". Okay. Well if this is some random desktop that you're trying to repurpose into a NAS, try removing the Mellanox because server parts and desktops aren't always good friends.

This is pretty far off the reservation so it's a bit hard to say more.
