Install of 11.2 on HP Microserver N40L (Turion Dual Core 1.5ghz) stopped

hi i'm very new to this so bare with me.

• HP N40L
• Turion 1.5ghz
• 8gb ddr3 ram
• 120 SSD for FreeNas
• 2x 500gb SATA3 HDD's for data

My installation stopped at the bootstrapper stage, so nothing has been written to the OS SSD yet. I booted from the USB stick created using Rufus and the FreeNAS ISO for 11.2 and the process stops at...

I can see the pipe but nothings happening. I have tried both USB 2 and 3 slots, same issue.

rebuilt the usb stick (MBR this time) still no luck

updated bios to latest 2013 release and still nothing

See if it boots up using FreeNAS 11.1-U7. There are some posts around problems with booting 11.2. I'm running an N40L successfully on 11.1. I'm not yet ready to move it to 11.2 on that system so I haven't yet come up against the problem you're seeing. I am running 11.2 successfully on its elder brothers, a pair of N54L's.

YES that did the trick, 11.1 installed without issue and now up n running

If you're game, you may even like to try upgrading to 11.2 from within 11.1 to see if you can work around the issue you experienced trying a fresh install of 11.2. If that fails, you should be able to switch back to an 11.1 environment using the bootloader.

yes i might do that before i get too deep into the config and plugins so there's less to do if it does wrong
