I want to look at the source code and then add the package into the codes. And rebuild the freenas.

And then? What is the goal (other than I want to run software X on FreeNAS)? There might be a better way to accomplish it other than jacking around with the FreeNAS source.

Modifying the freenas system isn't the way things work. When using software on freenas you install it in a jail and mount your pool in that jail.

OK, I'll have a try.I think it is very hard to change the source codes, too.

http://www.freshports.org/security/fswatchfswatch

This is the port you can install and I have to ask can zfs snapshots solve your problem? Or are you looking for an audit solution?
I want to look for an audit solution, and change the mode of file when the file change.
This is the fswatch.

But it is the old version of fswatch, sometimes doesn't work.I want to install the latest version of fswatch

It cann't install in the jail, because jails only can mount the dataset so that I cann't monitor all data of freenas. And I can change the mode of file in the jails.

Mount all your data in the jail then.

The reason to install fswatch is to change the mode of files(when they change the file name or the files are new.).And it should be compulsory to monitor the data(not configure by any user).By the way audit. The secure audit mechanism should be compulsory, too.
