increase kern.maxswzone or reduce amount of swap

I have read a lot on this and what I gather I have got to Increase RAM. Im maxed out in the Ram Dept.
so how do I increase the swap zone
and is this an error that would threaten data or just performance
Let me say again I have no more room for ram :)

You can't just replace RAM with swap space, that's not how FreeNAS works.

What Eric said. There is no substitute for RAM, at all. So if you don't have enough the answer is 'get more'. If 'get more' means buying a new system, then guess what? You're going to be buying a new system. :p

This harsh reality is why we tell people not to sell themselves short by buying old stuff that has a very low RAM capacity or buying microatx that has only 2 RAM slots.
