Identical new drives with different usable questions

Recently purchased 2 new identical 20TB Seagate IronWolf drives... My first mirrored vdev resulted in only 1.82TB of usable storage. Then I tested a striped configuration which showed 1 drive with 18.2 TB of usable space and the other with only 1.82TB. I've tried wiping the drive multiple times. Both drives show up as 18.19TB drives in the web interface which appears to be correct.

Did I receive a defective drive? I've tried creating multiple stripes and mirrors through the CLI and web interface.

Sounds like you got one 20TB drive and one 2TB drive. Got a smartctl output for the one showing 1.82T?

Bought the pair off Amazon. **Supposed** to be new, but it was a 3rd party. The drives were in a sealed electrostatic bag with the same packaging. I stuck them in my old Synology and the full size was properly recognized.

And the output for the other drive? What version of SCALE are you using (use the version numbers)?

The first drive is 20TB. If the second drive is also 20TB, then destroy your pool, install TrueNAS Core 13.0-U6.? and all you need to do is create the pool. Do not over think it. Once the pool has been created, power down and start to reinstall SCALE.
