I am trying to configure the owncloud plugin, I have installed the plugin. But not sure what to do next.

I want to setup an owncloud user using the user account I have created in freenas and have access to the shares that the user normally have access to in windows browser.

this is better directed to the owncloud forum.

this isn't the default way owncloud does things. all operations are done by your webserver daemon do it needs read+write access to the files. I personally only upload/download/interact with my OC files through OC and don't try to also touch the same files using other protocols.
