If i changed my machine OS to FreeNas, and I had an array built with mdadm already running, would FreeNAS recognize it and use it?

I don't think so. Sorry.
Code:
[root@freenas1] /mnt/tank/home# mdadm
mdadm: Command not found.
[root@freenas1] /mnt/tank/home# mdctl
mdctl: Command not found.
[root@freenas1] /mnt/tank/home#

Is this ZOL? if so then the mdadm might have just created/presented devices. If the disks themselves have a zfs filesystem on them.. then freenas might be able to import the pool, most likely not through as the md most likely wrote config info to the drives.
