you can edit the config directly /usr/pbi/transmission-amd64/etc/transmission/home/settings.json
In this case, FreeNAS won't overwrite the changes you make.

Also, I am working on an update to the transmission plugin that will have this setting available in the FreeNAS transmission "edit" menu. Should have it done soon.

Thanks for that ! Just installed the update & confirm it's functionality.

I'm still missing a few extra configuration options on transmission, and I don't know where to post this, besides starting topics for each one.
I could edit them in the settings.json but am experiencing problems with the file being overwritten (yes even when the plugin & the jail are down & editing the file from the nas directly)

- the option to set a location for the transmission.log.
I'd rather set this to a directly accessible location on my share.
- speed limitation schedule is overwritten when tampering with the plugin settings via the freenas gui.

yeah the FN GUI will overwrite any settings that are available in there so make sure you set them there if you can.

is the logfile setting in the config? I have a feeling you set this using transmission_flags in /etc/rc.conf
