You can chalk this up to me not being smart. But, I've done a bunch of searching and I'm stuck on it.
How does the truenas.local domain work?
This is what is happening.
Mac A:
- wired, DHCP IP
- Go > "Connect to Server..." smb://truenas.local works.
- Go > "Connect to Server..." smb://<static IP> works.
Mac B:
- wireless (Unifi), DHCP IP
- Go > "Connect to Server..." smb://truenas.local does NOT work.
- Go > "Connect to Server..." smb://<static IP> works.
Thoughts on why DNS is not working on Mac B but it is on Mac A?
