How do I set up nonperiodic replication?

Hi all,

our use case is to do snapshots only on request, not on a periodic basis (various reasons to do that).
What's the best way that all snapshots are replicated to a remote backup site? Something that I can manage from the web interface would be ideal, but I am aware that "ideal" is not always achievable.

You would have to trigger your snapshot from and manually run the ZFS send and receive command. That or write your own program and use the API.

The snapshot is triggered by a self-written program anyway, so I guess I'll just include the send command as well.
