How do I install applications that leverage ZFS Snapshots like UrBackup?

So this is probably a dumb question, but coming from Proxmox running zfs on the host system if I wanted to install the UrBackup server application while allowing it to create and manipulate zfs snapshots as part of it's core functionality I can just install the UrBackup application on the host and call it a day.

Is there currently any way to do this on SCALE? It doesn't seem like we can install persistent applications that will survive a system upgrade, and this functionality won't work through a container or VM, correct? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Good question. Inside a VM it will not work. With a container I'd suspect there is a way to pass-through the various devices / ZFS commands to allow something to manipulate ZFS snapshots from inside the system..

Bigger question, what type of functionality are you looking for here? Its the built-in snapshot system not doing something you need?
