Hey,
I updated to FreeNAS-11.1-RELEASE the other day. Since then I have seen some really high load spikes, even though the system is idle. No running jails, no plugins, no scrubbing, no resilvering.
No GUI running (SSH)
GUI
I think the culprit is, alertcli.py. I have a warning in my system, regarding a S.M.A.R.T. error, "Dec. 14, 2017, 1:45 p.m. - Device: /dev/da5 [SAT], new Self-Test Log error at hour timestamp 21691" I have had that warning for a couple for a weeks (I know, i know).
I didn't have these high load spikes with 11.0-U4.
System:
FreeNAS 11.1 Stable
Intel i3-4330
Supermicro X10SL7-F
32GB DDR3 ECC 1.35V 1600 MHz
10x3TB in RAID-Z2
2x16GB USB mirrored
Seasonic G-450
Fractal Design Node 804
