Hi all

I have a freenas set up which works fine at home.
I'd like to find out how to set it up for remote access outside of my home. I currently use a sky router which probably isn't the best but my ISP blocks us using any other one.

I have set up a dynamic DNS already.

my set up:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470S CPU @ 2.90GHz
12gb RAM
2x 4TB WD RED in RAID 2
Gigabit Ethernet

Could you clarify what you mean by remote access? Do you mean web access to the FreeNAS GUI, or access to the data pool shares?

In either case, you may want to look into installing a VPN server on your LAN. Search through these forums for how to run OpenVPN in a jail.

Remote access to files from anywhere in the world. How does the VPN jail work?

I want a way to I can easily access the files. such as mapping the drive in windows or adding it to my phone etc? If that makes any sense
