Help With 10GBE

G'day Complete noob have got a Truenas Core set up running on an OLD i7 3770 following all the helpful guides here and online i have got it running with Plex installed and woking fine. I have just purchased a INTEL X520-DA1 10GBE NIC installed booted Truenas now sees a 2nd NIC when we connect this VIA a DAC FS SFPP-PC01 which is compitable with our Switch Dell Powerconnect 7048. We get no link lights, system shows NIC as down. Im at a complete loss. any help would be appriciated.

It seems counterintuitive, but have you tried assigning an IP address to the interface to see if that brings things up?

i assigned it one in the GUI and also tried the consol neither changed the link status. I have also turned the main NIC off in bios but still wouldnt link. i know im missing somehting but unsure what. the card is compitable with truenas i checked, the cable is compiutable with NIC and Switch so pending all 4 SFP+ ports on switch being toast im at a loss.

have you tried to use ifconfig to "up" the interface?
