I've tried following along with the discussion here: https://www.truenas.com/community/threads/smb-access-problems.103214/ but for the life of me can't seem to get Shares to be writeable in windows. What am i doing wrong?

I have a local user in TrueNAS Scale (22.02.3) called evan.

I have a dataset, called mywork. It's ACL settings are:

I have been able to successfully mount this using the credentials "evan/<password>" as a drive letter in windows:

And can browse this share without issue:

however, whenever I try to delete something, or write to this share, I get a permission denied:

despite me having used this user to mount the share. What am i missing? I've verfieid that the user owns this entire data set (chown -R evan *)

Thanks!

Unmap your share, and remap it using MEDIASTORE\evan as the login.
