Hello.

I'm a fresh user of TrueNAS Scale installed on Proxmox.

I have created my Pool, Dataset, Group, User, Share following this video :

When I access the TrueNAS IP (192.168.0.182) on my Windows 11 laptop, I'm prompt to enter the user / password I set up for the SMB share and everything is OK (read, write, delete files/folders).

But on my Windows 10 laptop, I can't access the SMB share, I enter the user/password but then I have a message :

\\192.168.0.182 is not accessible

I guess the problem is on the Windows 10 side but where ?

Can you help me ?

Thanks.

Hopefully you already found this and understand what you're doing if any of the data on TrueNAS matters to you.

Are you using the same TrueNAS user on both windows versions?

How have you set permissions on the share and in the dataset? (I'm not going to watch the video you posted to figure that out)

Yes, of course, I'm using the same user (it's the only one I have created in TrueNAS) to access SMB share on both PC.

User : smbuser
Member of Group : SMBgrp

Dataset permission :

Share ACL :

OK, you'll have to forgive me for not understanding what you're doing here...

I don't think you can set an owner of an SMB share to root.

Your first screenshot refers to NFSv4 permissons (not SMB).

I don't see any information about how the SMB share is set up at all.
