Hi,

I have LSI 9211-8i HBA, with firmware P20, in IT mode. This firmware is the latest. The FreeNAS alert says: Firmware version 20 does not match driver version 16 for /dev/mps0, where mps0 is my HBA.
All the time when copying files, I can see this information on the screen attached to my NAS.
What is the problem? My data is still there, so no errors occur, but I just want to know what my NAS tries to tell me...

Thx

Ronald

The FreeNAS alert is telling you that the hardware and software versions don't match. Downgrade the firmware to Phase 16.

You may run into problems if the versions don't match.

Are you sure? I thought that also when looking for the 9207-8e, they said you needed to go to a specific download area to get archived firmware instesd of the drivers they offered from the product page. I went to their download area and found the P16. You had to search for your controller and then select archived, then it would all show up. Maybe you'll find it there?

I couldnt find that archive part, but I did search on 9211 P16. I found the P16! My HBA is flashed back to P16.

My NAS is even acting faster... It was hanging all the time because of the wrong firmware!

P20 firmware has been rather nasty, when it comes to interacting with the P16 driver.
