Hello all, I’ve look at the hardware guide and tried by best to follow it. My usage will be home network file storage, plex with some transcodings and possablity a few jails. Hopefully everything looks good. Please feel free to correct me on this or share any ideas. Thanks.

This I’m a little concerned that I got the right memory for my motherboard.

Boot drive: SanDisk 16GB Cruzer x2

HDD: 2-4 Western Digital Reds not quite sure on the size or number

One of the selling points of Skylake is the ability to run 64GB of memory. The motherboard you selected only has 2 memory slots and limits you to 32GB max. That would likely be enough for the use case and number of drives you have specified but why limit yourself if you don't have to?

That motherboard specifies the Xeon E3-1200 v5 series CPUs -- have you verified that it works with the Core i3?

Even if an i3 would work, a Xeon w/o built-in graphics would be a better choice for FreeNAS.
