Hello,
I am burning in a new Seagate 8 TB IronWolf drive. The badblocks command seems to be running fine. However, I do see a few error messages like those below. Is this something to worry about?

Thanks for feedback in advance.

Check your cabling first, and if issues persist, dont mess around and return it. I also like to try and switch around cables see if the error moves to a different disk.

(Power on, reset, or bus device reset occurred)

This could be also be power related. These CAM errors can be tricky to track down, so I always say start with easiest things. Good luck.

So I moved the drive to the slot below in the back plane and it started to work without errors. From the layout it seems that this is the same power connector, so it is likely not power related. But is could be data related. Since the backplane is fed by 2x SFF8087 connectors and other bays are working fine, I can only suspect the backplane being faulty. I have not tried reseating the drive in the same slot. Once this drive has finished burning in, I will try another drive in the suspect slot to see if it works. Will report back.
