Is there an easy way to get back to the initial consol? I did a complete setup via the WebGUI, then disabled the consol. Now need to change the IP address of the network card for a different environment. Going from 192.168.1.20 static to 192.168.0.20 also static.
Tried changing it via ifconfig re0 192.168.0.20 and although ifconfig shows it to have changed, still can't log on via the WebGUI at that address. And If I reboot the address changes back to 192.168.1.20.
The address seems to have taken effect, in that the shares are available to my users, but still can't get to the WebGUI.
After a significant amount of searching found a solution. Fom the root login type the following, and change the IP address from there
/usr/libexec/getty freenas
