changing to static IP

Hi all, im sure this is a simple and another issue which is staring me in the face but im now thinking im going mad and ive tried googling and searching this forum TNA.

Ive built my freenas using DHCP at work, installed plex and transmissions (still a couple of issues there too), setup my shares, DNS etc. Come home with the box and installed it at home, now id like to have it on a static IP normally 192.168.10.40 so i have changed my network - Global conf to have a IP4 default gateway on 192.168.10.1 (my router) added 2 DNS servers. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
changed my live interface to be static 192.168.10.40 /24 netmask. my network sumary shows this;

Name IPv4 Address
em1 192.168.10.40/24
Nameserver
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
Default route
192.168.10.1

which seems how id expect.

no static routes or Vlans. I have gone to my jails and edited their IP4 address (.41 and .42) and gateway.

I can access them locally but plex can not access web content, The freenas plugin tab can not check for available plugins and the system - update can not connect to the server.

Im sure ive missed something please advise - thanks.

Check /etc/resolv.conf inside the jails

Ok yes. I've got 3 entry's. One for my old network and two I'm not sure of.

nameserver 62.60.123.225
nameserver 194.176.201.193
nameserver 192.168.0.1

How many entry's can I have incase I need to go back to 192.168.0.1? Can I just add a new "nameserver 192.168.10.1"

I would say just swap out all of them for the only one you need and one backup that is reachable. 8.8.8.8 is pretty popular

Ok thanks. I'll change them.

I think I'm asking a bit much now but as ive got 2 NIC's on my mboard. Can I have one interface set as dhcp and one as my static ip and if I move the box onto a non 192.168.10.xx network I just plug into the other NIC?

I'm also having trouble setting up transmission. How can I set the completed download location and temp download location. It seems not to be remembering my settings?
Plus I'm having issues getting dynu.com setup in ddns. Any help on these would be great fully received...
