Hi All,

I have adopted a FreeNAS box from a prior IT company and it rebooted due to a power outage.
It is used to store backup data.
The storage volume for the backups has no space at all.
The storage volume for the FreeNAS OS has over 900GB space.
On reboot I can access the web interface but the SMB service will not start.
If I use SSH and run service samba_server start I get the error
WARNING: /usr/local/etc/smb4.conf is not readable.
The file smb4.conf does not exist in the location it mentions above.

If I try and install an update I get [Errno 28] No space left on device: '/var/db/system/tmp84z380i_': Automatic update check failed. Please check system network settings.

How do I resolve this issue?

Thank You.

Hi all, good news, I fixed it.
The issue was the lack of disk space on the storage drive, I used SSH to remote in and delete some files which then allowed the SMB service to start.
