SOLVED FreeNAS Mini XL powers on but no video or network activity. IPMI works.

Purchased a FreeNAS Mini XL about 3 years ago. 2 days ago I woke up to numerous email alerts about unscheduled reboots. I was unable to reach the webui remotely so I connected a monitor and briefly saw a message about a kernel panic. The system was completely unresponsive so I powered cycled it and it appears to power on but I have no output from the VGA port.

IPMI works and it shows everything as healthy but nothing else seems to work. The NIC lights up when I plug in an ethernet cable but I have no response from the static IP.

Not sure where to go from here. I would assume I would have some sort of output from the mobo even if the boot drive died.

Where should I begin troubleshooting this?

I suspect that your Asrock C2750 mobo has died - if you're not familiar with this situation, look here https://www.ixsystems.com/community...-your-asrock-c2550d4i-or-c2750d4i-last.45445/

I suggest that you contact iXsystems and see what they will do for you, if anything. They did, at one time, have an extended warranty program but I am uncertain if it's still in place. You might also try email to William at Asrock - some had luck there, too - william@asrockamerica.com
