Trying to understand the problem... You are saying:
- You have created a SMB share in FreeNAS
- You have full access to it from windows
- You are using ftp to ftp files from a linux box to it and it's working
- You can't see the files you have copied from the linux box via ftp
(?'s)
- Is the above correct?
- Assume you are mounting the FreeNAS share in your linux box
- Can you see and manipulate the files from the linux box?
- Have you created more than one directory inside the FreeNAS SMB share?
- Do your windows user have the same access to all?
As you can see lots of questions. Perhaps you can break down and provide more information, otherwise people won't be able to help.
All is correct!
I have created a share called backup on the FreeNAS
It has SMB and FTP enabled to the backup share.
From a Windows PC I can see the share and add and remove files from it.
From my Linux Centos I have it doing backups to the FTP backup folder and it works
When I FTP to the freeNAS backup folder I can see the backup directory and all the FTP files in it but none of the Windows files.
When I use my Windows pc explorer and browse to the backup folder I see all the Windows files but none of the FTP files.
I'm using the same user account for both systems and both systems see directories but no files.
I have also changed to rights to the ftp files to 777 and still cant see them, I have also told the SMB share to show hidden files.
This is a new load and only one account created besides the root.
