FreeNAS and VMware HGFS

Is it possible to have a FreeNAS VM serve files purely as an intermediary, passing through a VMware HGFS share?

The reason I ask is because it seems to be the simplest way to get an NFS server on Windows...

If I understand you correctly, is your goal to connect an NFS share to a Windows box? Windows has a native NFS client to allow you to connect to an NFS server. A quick Google search will do you good in this case.

If you are wanting to share out a share, be prepared for crap performance and horrible reliability. FreeNAS wasn't designed to share out shares, and it's just not a good design to ever consider except as a very VERY temporary one in a very limited situation.
