Hello, I have 4 disks in RAID-Z1 and have a simple question about datasets.

I currently have an organizational hierarchy of datasets on my volume.

Let me "paint you a picture":
-Volume
-Dataset01
-Dataset01.01
*Files and folders*
-Dataset01.02
*Files and folders*
-Dataset02
-Dataset02.01
*Files and folders*

My question is if this is just terrible usage of datasets and the hierarchy should be done another way, or if this is one of the intended uses of it? Notice Dataset01 and Dataset02 only contains a dataset as a direct child, no files or folders.

Thanks for any answers you have to offer.

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. A Dataset is very similar to a subdirectory, one of the biggest things I like about datasets is being able to have different snapshot intervals for each of them.

There's nothing wrong with what you've done, you can always move stuff around / change it later.
