I followed the upgrade instructions on doc.freenas.org to upgrade from 8.2p1 to 8.3.0 release (both x64). I used the txz method and everything appeared to work properly. Except when I logged back in my zpool appears to be gone and in its place all my disks now are listed as "member of test_volume raidz2". zpool status reports no pools available.
Since this was obviously wrong I reverted back by rebooting the previous install. zpool status shows all volumes on-line.
[root@freenas ~]# zpool status
pool: V1-2Tx4z1
state: ONLINE
scrub: none requested
config:
NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM
V1-2Tx4z1 ONLINE 0 0 0
raidz1 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada0p2 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada1p2 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada2p2 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada3p2 ONLINE 0 0 0
errors: No known data errors
On a unrelated note: I'm getting ntpd_initres failures (host name not found). I did not have any ntp issues in 8.2p1
Suggestions?
