Hi,

I'm trying to disable SMBv1 in my FreeNAS servers.
Right now, Only workstations running SMBv1 can view shared folders from my FreeNAS server.
I want to increase the SMB version to SMBv2 at least.

I tried to put that line in the smb.conf:
min protocol = SMB2

and then execute:
/usr/sbin/service samba reload
It didn't help.

Thank you.

It's going to be hard to get a useful answer for a 5 year old version of FreeNAS running a 5 year old version of Samba...

I thought about this to be honest..
Is it possible to upgrade the FreeNAS + samba version through the FreeNAS portal?

Not that far back. Save your config. Install the latest version to a new USB stick, then see if it lets you restore your saved config. If it barfs on the config, you'll need to recreate your configurations from scratch.

It almost certainly will. At the very least, jump to 9.2.1.9, then 9.3, then 9.10.2-U4 or 11 - and be mentally prepared to fix some permissions on Samba shares.
