Format old FreeNAS drive on mac

Hi there,

I have an old FreeNAS ZFS hard drive that I want to wipe and use on my mac but it isn't recognised in disk utility on my mac. Is there a way to format the disk for use on a mac - would I need to do this on a FreeNAS system?

Does it show up in Terminal using diskutil?

If it is not showing up in terminal then however you are connecting is broken or not working.

My experience is you should get that pop up saying the disk is not recognizable and the options are something like "ignore" "initialize" and something else that I have forgotten.

How are you connecting it? Drive dock?
