Hello,

Is it possible to do a FreeNAS (9.10) install to usbstick but force msdos partition table?
I have an issue with my MBO and for some reason it cannot do well anything if usbstick inserted has gpt partition table.
tried upgrading bios etc but no luck.

I guess installing from shell is a way to go but i never installed FreeNAS like that.

is there a hope for my MBO or should I just buy new one?

Thanks!

You've not mentioned your hardware specifications. You should provide these as per the forum rules.

Older motherboards will fail to boot from devices that use GPT partitions. You have two likely fixes: a) update the BIOS on your motherboard, if that's not possible, b) time to replace the motherboard with something newer.

No, it is completely unsupported. FreeNAS boot devices must use GPT, by necessity.
