I'm running Truenas 12.0-u2.1, upgraded from freenas a few months back.
I know that in Truenas 12, SMB access for root was disabled and that attribute is no longer editable. Now here is my problem, i had "Samba auth" enabled for root prior to Tru12 and when i upgraded, it has permanently set that attribute as enabled. When i try to disable it, it get the "this attribute cannot be changed" error message.

Anyone run into this before? I really want to disable samba access for root as this was a leftover from when i initially set up freenas.

Pics attached.

If you managed to solve it, please share your experience. I have the opposite problem. I want to get samba access for root in Truenas-13U2.

This has been disabled in upstream Samba.

It turns out that the user "root" I can not get into the shared folders from under Windows over the network?

This opportunity was in Freienas 11

Thank you. I will solve my problem in a different way. Moreover, I found a number of solutions in publications. I will try.
