[Excuse the language mistakes, I am French and my English is not very good]
Hi everyone,
I have 2 disks of 1To in my server in mirror, and recently an alert appeared indicating that 2 sectors are unreadable and not correctable. So I would like to know how to fix these sectors or disable them to avoid other problems.
I point out that this server is built from scrap parts and is not used to store important data. Also, I wish I didn't have to buy new hard drives if they weren't broken.
PC : Dell Optiplex 3010

Your disk has failed 3 smart long test. Replace the disk if you value your data.

So I would like to know how to fix these sectors or disable them to avoid other problems.
That drive has over over 6 years of power on time. I'm actually impressed that it has taken this long to throw errors given that it is not a NAS or DataCenter Drive. At least you were running SMART tests... hopefully you are also running regular scrubs.

As @Jailer has stated, that drive is on it's way to the graveyard. No telling how much longer it will last, but at that age, it is only a matter of time before you have much bigger issues. Since you have a mirror, your data is still safe for now... until the other drive starts to have issues. Since you don't provide info on the age or condition of that other drive, I can only assume it to be of the same vintage and class.

If you don't have a backup of the data somewhere else, you should do so as soon as possible.

The ada0 disc dates from 2009 and ada1 from 2014. They were used in desktop PCs (everything is recycled). I should be able to find a 1TB drive in one of my computers to replace it and I will look at the condition of the second drive to see if it can still be used.
Thank you very much for all your valuable advice
