Hello,
Recently this error has been displayed on my freenas control panel, someone would know how to fix this error and where it came from.
Thank you.

Have you got a mirrored pair for boot or just this drive?

The drive is clearly unhappy so I would replace it.

What's your pool design like? How hot are the other drives in your system?

You're saying that the drive is not working well beacause i just bought it like 2 month ago,
It is a crucial ssd.

I have 1 main pool and my other drives are at 53°
It looks hot but in Paris it is currently 43° so it is complicated to cool them down more, usually they are at 43.

I can sympathise as its 35 here in the UK and that's hot enough for me.

Obviously, you want to keep your drives cooler than that where and when possible so long as they don't run that hot all their life. I would say 43 is still a bit high for normal operation.

I would suggest you replace it for an Intel as in my experience they have a great lifespan.

It's a strange error and one I've not seen before but SMART is failing to report its temp which I would say isn't a good sign. If you've never had this issue before then given the high temps in your country atm that could have something to do with it so you could perhaps ride it out and see what happens.

usually they are at 43.
Spinners should be kept under 40C for best lifespan--the failure rate increases significantly with higher temperatures.

It's only complaining because temp reached 50C and that's the threashold set in SMART, 50C is nothing for an SSD, looks more to me like a firmware bug.

There's doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the SSD, except a wrong threshold value for temp, see for example the SMART report for one of mine Crucial MX500, note the threshold for temp is set at 0:

Operating temp of most SSDs, including the BX500, is up to 70C, and 50C is perfectly normal after some sustained write activity.

Hi I have the exact same problem.
Is there a way to sort this out? it's dangerous? I also have a new SSD.
And if it's not they have a way of eliminating this message in case it comes back?
