error 4 lba 1139559 No /boot/loader No /boot/kernel/kernel after fresh install

Running ESXi5 on an HP DL 385 at home with several virtual machines.
Created new virtual machine type freebsd 32bit, harddrive 256MB
mount iso for freenas 8.02 32 bit install (Also tried the 64 bit version, same issue)
installation process seems fine but when it asks to reboot then I see the following:

F1 FreeBSD
F2 FreeBSD

F6 PXE
Boot: F1
error 4 lba 1139559
No /boot/loader

FreeBSD/x86 boot
Default: 0:ad(0,a)/boot/kernel/kernel
boot:
error 4 lba 1139559
No /boot/kernel/kernel

I have good linux experience but I'm new to freeBSD. Why does this fresh install not work?

I have the same problem and I can' find any solution.

resolved

I was able to install succesfully when I chose a harddrive size of 2 GB. It seems that is the new minimum required space for an installation.
