Hi,

My FreeNAS version is 9.2.1.7. I'm currently doing a backup to upgrade it later.
I've just got a "strange" message from freenas.local security.

I'm not a FreeNAS expert, but I don't use encryption on my system.

Does anybody understand what happened?

Thank for very much your help.

That's correct. Encryption is used there because in the normal course of operations, certain lightly used bits of the OS and middleware could get pushed out to swap if the system is memory-stressed, and some of that might contain passwords etc. It is much better and safer for it to be encrypted.
