Hello All:

I have a back up configured on my Windows 10 Pro laptop which pumps data to a folder on a freenas system.

However, I see duplicates of several (not all) files being created. A screen shot is also uploaded.

Can someone guide as to why this is happening and what can be done to stop / prevent this?

Thanks & Regards
Neeraj Saraf

I don't see duplicates. I see similar file names and same sizes. This would not be caused by FreeNAS.

How do you copy files? (They are being renamed on copy?)

You are changing from PDF to ODS. This is something that is being done by an application you are using. Nothing to do with FreeNAS.

if you see the image, several duplicate files exist with different time stamps in the name.
then the windows "non deduplication" backup system decides it needs to copy an unchanged file? this is not a FreeNAS issue, you need to find a setup that will work the way you want or find a different backup solution
