Ok so a little background info, I built a new system and moved my old pool over, I set up scrubs / smart tests ect.
After the first SMART test ran on all the drives TrueNAS flagged up two drives as having read errors, I thought this was odd timing to replaced all the SATA cables to see if it was something simple.
I then re-ran the smart tests and now one of the drives passes both the short and long test and another was still failing.
I assumed this was probably faulty and planned to replace it come payday.
Today a scheduled scrub ran and Truenas picked up errors on the drive and has degraded the pool, here is where the weirdness starts though.
The drive that was still failing was drive sdg, I got this error today
So sdg error count increases and the pool is degraded, ok so far, I then checked the disks and saw this :
sdg is now one of my boot SSD's? looking at the smart results sdf is now the drive that's failing the tests, even stranger is the serial number flagged in the error is actually sdb which has passed its smart checks fine?
Zpool status output:
Any idea whats going off? TrueNAS appears to be telling me to replace the wrong drive?
