HI All, I just had a very bad experience: my dedup vdev has just gone offline (2x optane 280GB ssd in mirroring both went unavailable) before panicking i tried restarting the Truenas from the ssh consolle (as the web interface was ko) and at the reboot, forced as there was a process who didn't quit, everything was fine and all data and vdevs were ok.
How can I check what happened? /var/log/messages doesn't seem to have anything I find useful.

Thank you for your help

Welcome to the forums!

You have posted a problem of the "my car won't start" variety, which is likely to result in low quality answers or even none at all.

Please help us help you by posting detailed information about your system, especially including, but not limited to, detailed information about your network setup. The Forum Rules, helpfully linked at the top of every page in red, includes some guidance as to how to build a problem report and hardware description that is more likely to result in some useful responses.

This is especially important because you haven't even identified whether you're running Core (FreeBSD) or Scale (Linux), or what the specifics of the NVMe setup are (these can be twitchy).

it makes sense, sorry, but I was looking more at: which logs can I check

Worried by the "Overheating" guess, would it be a smart log who would report it?

Truenas version is TrueNAS-12.0-U7 (0c67ffe995) so, core but I would liketo switch to scale at some point in the future.

the hardware I use is:
Motherboard X570D4U-2L2T with 64GB ram ECC and AMD Ryzen 5 3500X
IT mode controller ( Avago Technologies (LSI) SAS2008) Firmware: 20.00.07.00, Driver: 21.02.00.00-fbsd
8x WDC WD180EMFZ-11 6x on the controller 2x on the motherboard
2x KingDian S200 60GB 20150818 with the boot-pool
2x INTEL SSDPE21D280GA for the dedup vdev connected using

Intel X550 network card. not sure the network configuration is useful here.
