Is this a real hardware failure? Any chances to bring it ONLINE without disk replacement?

Thanks in advance.

You pool ist still ok and even redundant. I'd replace the disk.

Hi,

So as of now, you are still safe. So the first thing is : No Panic! Despite being degraded, your vDev is Raid-Z2 so still has redundancy. No time to waste but no hurry so you don't create a problem where there are none.

One thing is to ensure what kind of backups do you have ? Always important to realize what you have / don't have as backups because, as you see it here, problems happen.

Second thing is that I would check cables and connections before replacing the drive. If you can power down your server, unplug and replug that drive carefully and boot it back up. See if that was enough to bring back the disk online.

If not, then it would be time to think about replacement. Do you already have spares ? If you do, good and proceed. If you do not, it would be good to order 2. One for the replacement and the second one to burn in and be ready for the next situation. Also, by having 2, if you received a DoA drive, you will already have the second one to work with.
