Degraded, high CKSUM count

Been running very stable until lately. Started getting CKSUM errors (no READ or WRITE) and reboots once a day or so. I run SMART short every 5 days and SMART long every 4 weeks. No issues found for IDs 5/197/198/199 and all tests show "completed without error". Scrubs every 3 weeks. I've run memtest86, swapped out SATA cables and reseated the power cables.

I'm currently seeing CKSUM errors on NAS at a rate of 1 every ~5 seconds. The report below shows a low number due to recent reboot. I've seen CKSUM totals on NAS of over 3K - doesn't seem to slow down.

My questions are:
1. What can be causing this type of CKSUM accumulation?
2. Of the 4 files listed with permanent errors, only 1 is actually a path. How do I understand (and find/fix) the other 3?

I'm assuming you're using the onboard SATA ports... if so, having every drive doing the same thing points to a failure on the board itself. I'd be suspicious of a controller failure, or maybe a questionable PSU.

I would suspect the power supply or the motherboard, because of the reboots.

If those 4 damaged files never change or drop off the list, then they are damaged. You will probably have to recreate the pool from scratch to cure it. But first, try to find and fix the cause.

And thanks to tvsjr for posting the same thing while I'm writing! :)

do you have smart test results for the drives? This will tell us if the errors are drive related or not.

I've gotten down to 2 file errors although I'm not sure if that's because of the scrubs/resilver or because I've been purging. As long as I was spending all this time on maintenance I updated to 11.1 but of course that had no effect. I switched to AHCI and still seeing the errors.

I suppose it could be a power supply issue but then I would expect different error counts on each of drives and memtest86 failures. I'm leaning toward a SATA controller issue.
