I've been messing around with the idea of creating a dedicated CS:GO (counter-strike: go) community server, and host it from my FreeNAS server.
Seeing there is native support for Minecraft, in MineOS, I was wondering if my idea of doing this entirely through a jail (not VM) is possible, in terms of compatibility and what not.

If yes, how would you go about installing it? If you have any experience on the subject, perhaps even guides, feel free to share.

I do realize that this is perhaps a bit out of the ordinary, when it comes to the average subject matter of this forum, but it can't hurt to ask.
I wasn't able to find anything on this using the search option.

Thanks a lot in advance!

I managed to get three games running and were actually very playable, but not CSGO. I think free bsd would be a good gaming platform, but I don't see steam coming to bsd.

Have you seen Valve's instructions ? If you would like to run the Linux Source Dedicated Server on your FreeBSD machine, you must compile your kernel with the CPU_ENABLE_SSE option to ensure your machine’s MMX capabilities are recognized by the kernel.
In addition to the CPU_ENABLE_SSE option, some machines may require that the CPU_ATHLON_SSE_HACK option be enabled when compiling the kernel.
I officially left csgo last week after playing on and off since 1.6. I've lost my touch. I went from being a solid LE to playing like a silver 1 after playing other games with my friends and forgetting about CS. When I tried getting back into it, my aim was so bad. My spray was garbage. My taps were off. I even sold all of my high tier skins here free csgo skins. I don't know if I can get back.
