Hi,

I've got a problem with crashplan (someone already described it on the forum):
Crashplan plugin installs fine, init script starts the daemon and I'm able to redirect the port.
When I start the GUI, it is able to connect to redirected port, asks me to login.
However, after I enter my credentials to my CrashPlan account and click "Sign In" after a while I'm getting an error (seen in the GUI):
Unable to connect, check your network

Crashplan daemon version is 3.6.3 (as seen in the previous log) - installed via Plugins menu.
i don't think it matters, but I was connecting it from both GUI version 3.6.3 and 3.7.0.

My /etc/resolv.conf contains a valid dns server.
I'm able to resolve central.crashplan.com (using nslookup) and ping it as well, but as it can be seen n service.log something is wrong with java's name resolution.

Any Idea how to fix it?

hello,
try to add nameservers into the /etc/resolv.conf file.
Code:
# Generated by resolvconf

nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 208.67.222.222

i created the plugin-jail and in the /etc/resolv.conf file only ipv6 nameserver show up.....
then i add the ipv4 nameservers and i can log in over the gui from my windows computer.

Sorry, I forgot to note that I have added my DNS servers to resolv.conf, and name resolution works in the jail (and I can ping and resolve central.crashplan.com), but it doesn't work for crashplan daemon..

Nope. I'll probably haveto try to set up another linux box to run crashplan in it (and back up FreeNAS by NFS)...

I'm seeing the same error message and name resolution is working fine on my jail as well. Anyone else go insights on this?

Thanks,

If you are messing with resolve.conf something in your network is broken. Can you describe your network or fix it? Networking problems are like permissions everyone is unique and it's hard to debug. You shouldn't have to modify anything to get crashplan to work. All you have to do is configure the client to use the jail ip and configure the crashplan server to accept connections from all address(0.0.0.0).

I was able to fix it by increasing RAM limits in run.conf to 2GB and adding IPv4 DNS servers in resolv.conf.
