Convert remote TrueNAS Core to Scale?

Is there a manual update file or some other method to convert Core to Scale without physical access to the system? I left a TrueNAS system at my daughter's home and would like to convert it without her involvement.

You have remote VPN access to NAS or network?

Yes. Remote access to both TrueNAS and the Router for that network.

Currently, the only way to migrate from Core->Scale is a full reinstall.

Will it be possible to manual update (remotely) in the future? Is that planned?

It's on the roadmap, but who knows when it will become available. Besides, Scale isn't at release state yet, and there's still rough edges being smoothed out. Do you really want to possibly end up with a bricked server at a remote location?

Bricked remote would require the same amount of attention it takes to install Scale currently, so why not? Scale seems to work well enough for the simple file serving that my daughter needs, and much better than Core for the virtualization she is requesting. I would be pleased to alpha test a manual update.
