Connection Reset by Peer Error No 54

When trying to apply updates the download runs for a while and then continually stops with the error 'Connection Reset By Peer'

Is this a know issue? The computer I am using has an extremely stable connection so I don't think that is the problem.

FYI - It always seems to stop at 11%/22% on the top/bottom gauges respectively at the same file show in the attachment.

What is the size of the boot device? How many boot environments are showing in System -> Boot?
