Hello all. First, some background. I have been running FreeNAS for about a year now and have steadily been learning more and more. I am currently on 9.3. I am using it for a network mass storage location for personal files password protected in one directory, and media files in another open directory. I only access the files using CIFS. Plex is running with access to the media directory, and I have the UPS service configured and running. That is everything that is going on at the moment.

Now on to my question. I have a secondary storage device consisting of a basic 5 bay RAID box with USB access only. (This will be called ROUTER STORAGE) It is plugged into my Router via its own USB port, and it is also configured to be a network accessible CIFS share. I would like to be able to automatically duplicate both of my FreeNAS shares to the ROUTER STORAGE automatically on a schedule. What would I use to do this? Rsync? and would i be able to set it up in the WebGUI? my CMD skills are not that great

Thanks a bunch, I eagerly await any info. -Mike

Use replication. Setup a periodic snapshot and then a replication task

Awesome, I have looked into that as well, The replication task system is still a bit complicated. Is there no something that can simply copy the files to a new location in the network?
