I have been at this for a bit now and just can't figure out how to connect to my NAS to share files.
I have an old Dell PC that I am using as my NAS and have Freenas 8 installed on a 2gb USB stick. The Dell is connected to my router via ethernet and only has one 80GB hard drive in it. I am not looking for serious storage, just tinkering around with an old computer.
I can access the webui, but I am not quite sure how to set it up for it to connect. All of the guides I have seen through googling, involve older versions of Freenas.
What I need to be able to do is simple, connect to it from my home network and upload/download files. Nothing special.
Also, if it makes any sort of difference, I will be mainly using Linux PC's to connect to it. Mainly Linux Mint Debian Edition and Ubuntu.
I would be really grateful if anyone here can help me out in any way.
