help with networking

hey guys this is the first time i have ever attempted a server / nas so i am learning as i go. i have setup my nas correctly according the to the freenas install video
, i can ping the ip and also the server name from my 2 pcs . (i can connect via cx file explorer on android) i am unable to see them in explorer on windows and i have tried about 20 tricks off youtube mainly with windows sharing options to try and rectify it till 4am with no luck so im struggling here , any ideas where to start or what to do.

also typing //ipadress in explorer redirects to the gui not the files on the server

Please read the forum rules first and provided more information. Hardware, network setup , client OS, freenas version. There are several things missing that would help answer your question. What error message or problem are you seeing is big one that you didn't mention. Saying "it doesn't work" provides zero information when you are on the internet.
